Location:  Just 1.5 miles from downtown Truckee.  6 miles from Northstar; 15 miles from Squaw / Alpine; 43 miles from Heavenly.

Although the neighborhoods share the same entrance and exit, these 2 subdivisions have several differences. Sierra Meadows has a homeowners association with annual fees, tennis courts and a pool. Ponderosa Palisades has more trees, no association and no amenities. Around the Sierra Meadows and Ponderosa area, there are two more subdivisions called Ponderosa Ranchos and Martiswood Estates. Boasting larger parcels, many zoned for horses, this subdivision is about 70 percent built on. The neighborhood is a mix of primary and second homes. Across Highway 267 is another neighborhood near the Ponderosa Golf Course.
